State Police have released a sketch of a suspect who posed as a Verizon worker in a robbery that occurred late last week in the area.

The incident took place around 11:10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 30 on Scarborough Lane in the Town of Wappinger when state police said a middle-aged man knocked on the door of the home and said he had a "special upgrade package" to offer from Verizon.

An investigation revealed that an unknown middle-aged man, approximately 5-foot-7 with an average build, short dark hair, wearing a dark gray, short-sleeved button-down shirt, blue pants, and dark shoes came to the address.

He reportedly did not display any credentials or any type of Verizon insignia.
